Flag City Morning Rotary

Service Above Self since 2005

Your club committee has put together a very nice, year-long incentive to encourage members to bring guests and grow our membership. Here are the details:

Flag City Morning Rotary
Membership Drive
Goal:  Grow the membership from our current 36 members to 50 members. This goal is everyone’s responsibility and hopefully everyone can share in making this happen.
Incentive to current club members:
Gift card awarded quarterly
  • Each club member will get his/her name entered in the drawing for the gift card once for every guest they bring to a meeting during the quarter.
  • Each club member will get his/her name entered in the drawing an additional time for each guest who becomes a member.
  • Drawing for the gift card will be the first meeting following the end of the quarter (October, January, April, July.)
  • The membership drive starts with the new Rotary year – July 2016.  The first drawing will be the first meeting in October.
  • All members must have a good understanding of the purpose of Rotary and the encouragement to attend and be involved in order to recruit others into our fine fun club.

The purpose of the club starts with the Four Way Test.  We are a service organization with the motto “service above self.”   The Rotary Organization’s theme is to improve the lives of others and to improve our communities.  Our club does two major fund-raising projects a year; Petunias to end Polio and the spaghetti lunch.  Each member plays an important role in serving others and serving our community.  Therefore, we need everyone to participate in our service projects.  Sometimes non-profit organizations come to us to request our help. Sometimes they request a financial donation but often times with the need for volunteers.  We won’t take on a service project unless we get enough people to commit so that we can serve those in need.

Besides our goal of growing the club to 50 members by June 30, 2017, we don’t want to lose any members.  And we want to encourage attendance.  You can make up a meeting by attending a board meeting, attending the meeting of another club, going on-line to the Rotary website and watching a video. This needs to be done within the week of the meeting you need to make up.  And you need to tell Betsy Hackworth when you have done that.  If you visit another club, take along our Rotary miniature flag and get theirs in return to bring back to our club.

    Remember:  50 members by 6-30-17
Thanks for your involvement and commitment in our fine club.
